“I always thought entrepreneurship was for others -wealthier, more educated and culturally different than myself. Entrepreneurship was unattainable to me as a child due to the lack of representation in my community.”

How would you describe your role to someone who has no knowledge of what you do?
I’m an entrepreneur. I work hard everyday to better the lives of my loved ones and the ecosystem I evolve in. At Remax Griffintown, we represent the real estate interests of our sellers and buyers on a daily basis. I’m a lead generator, so I help build, maintain and nourish relationships to bring value to our clients. At Influence ORBIS, I help create empowering events that aim to inspire, inform and influence the current and next generation of change makers.

What milestone kick-started your career?
About 8 years ago, I won a big Real Estate award and leveraged it into a TV contributor position at a big media company. I have never looked back since. Gaining notoriety and creating valuable digital content has fuelled my business ventures ever since that first TV appearance.

How did you envision your career before experiencing it within its current reality?
I always thought entrepreneurship was for others -wealthier, more educated and culturally different than myself. Entrepreneurship was unattainable to me as a child due to the lack of representation in my community. But today I live it fully, I wake up and go to bed with a sense of accomplishment. It’s definitely hard at times, but that’s how I know I’m onto something special. Out of pressure comes diamonds, right!

What was the greatest risk you have taken in your career?
The greatest risk was not taking any! I have learned that not taking any risks is THE biggest risk one can take.

What would you describe as your biggest accomplishment, what are you the most proud of?
I am most proud of having a healthy family with 3 kids and a happy wife, all while managing to run successful businesses that create value.

Accepting that not everyone will be as passionate as you for your projects and vision is one of the biggest challenges you’ll face.”

What inspires you in your everyday life?
The idea that I can leave a legacy behind and that other people can remember my contributions to this world long after I am gone.

What was the best advice you have ever received?
That there are people who take risks and others that work for the people that take risks.

What would be your best piece of advice for others?
Everyone should only focus on 2 things in life: 1) Figure out what your passion is, and 2) follow it and never look back.

What are the biggest challenges you face in your professional life/career?
Accepting that not everyone will be as passionate as you for your projects and vision is one of the biggest challenges you’ll face. Finding competent and loyal partners (and employees) is always a challenge as well. Last but not least, juggling family time with work is another challenging part of entrepreneurship.

Why is it important to you to give back to the community?
I always say that you can’t give back what you have not acquired for yourself first. The necessity of giving back is tied to the importance of one’s community to one’s self. To support and elevate the members bold enough to follow their dreams and acquire enough, so that they also can give back in turn. We should only support entrepreneurs who take the time to give back.

Who has been your greatest mentor?
Gary Vaynerchuk by far! He taught me to hustle harder than I already was and to be patient.

Can you share an anecdote or a moment that strongly impacted your life journey?
I remember hearing about a gentleman disrupting the banking industry and changing it forever. Then I heard about a man who was aggressively tackling the automotive industry, forcing it to evolve. Lastly, I heard about a man dreaming of democratizing space travel, making it affordable and safe. He’s been called crazy, revolutionary and a visionary. He’s also been called a genius. This man is Elon Musk.
